I wouldn't buy diamonds in Australia.

You are best off taking your high $AU to New York and buying in the diamond district.

Even when you factor in the airfare hotel ect you will be way way in front, you get a much higher grade colour and clarity.

If its for investment, pool your money into the biggest highest quality coloured diamond you can afford rather than many smaller ones.

Do your reserch on the best colour, I prefer fancy yellow as the Indians love them,but their are other colours that are in high investment demand.
