I believe we are fast approaching a time where "protectionism" and sovereign risk are considerations that have been given little or no consideration in terms of investment choice.
Many are quick to criticise the proposed Resources Rental & Carbon Taxes as proposed by our Federal Government yet many give little thought to what is unfolding in other jurisdictions around the globe.
I would urge investors to think VERY carefully about overseas investment, in particular Africa & Asia which have both been the flavour of the month so to speak.
If/when things start to unfold as many expect, Australia may well turn out to be a "go to" destination. Despite what some believe we have some amazing mineral provinces that offer outstanding investment opportunities. You just need to do some thorough research.
