If the various unions involved want to run an airline, buy an airline. I think they would soon discover how difficult it has become to make a profit in this industry. It would also be interesting to know how many of their members have put out in supporting their employer by becoming shareholders over the last few years.
I say, power to you Alan Joyce, stick it up them and their bedfellow Fed. Government. I do feel sorry for all shareholders, am very glad I own VBA and not QAN anymore, tough times ahead.
Perhaps this is only the beginning of the rationalisation of Australias over generous, uncompetitive wages and industrial relations conditions which, at present rates, will continue to damage our ability to trade, manufacture and offer viable service throughout the world.
