look l wish l was cold by nature,,l hated getting rid off them,but at the end l weighed up my options,,l had made my money working hard and sacrificing basically my family working 7 days a week with kids growing up in the office so to speak,,now l wish l had done it earlier mainly for the fact one tends to reflect back and think ,why did l care about them and their families when they did not once give a toss about my family,,l could employ a few back but when l sit back and look at this government l think to myself why would l bother,,l was happy to run some products at break even to keep them but in the last year the price of timber has basically doubled and even when l called the mill to buy a semi traler load they told me they could not because they would be dealing direct with me and that would not be fair on the timber supplier,,the funny thing is that the timber suppliers dont get the product because its going straight to china in the container loads at half the price,,easy solution in my eyes ,at least make it possible for businesses here willing to still stay open get at least a garuantee of supply,,the mill even turned around and admitted they didnt even care if they sold any product here,,l understand all the fuss espicially with the guy getting more money but seriously after starting my business when l was 20 and now 34 l think that in the last 5 years half or actually 75percent have closed basically for the non competitive nature in global business,,espicially here a tradesman let say cost you 28 dollars and labourers 24,,doesnt sound like much but when you have people importing things for let say 300 and selling for 400 you cant even think of competing,,l suppose this was expected as the country itself only cares about the mining boom
dont feel sorry for me as l feel sorry more for my 4 boys and their future in this supposedly lucky country
anyway l hope that the issues do get resolved and lessons can be learnt
