There is something your missing here. Qantas are one of the most profitable airlines in the world. Therefore the suggestion that Qantas wont be around if they don't employ cheaper labour simply is a bit of BS.

Qantas have had a monopoly on many international routes into Australia for years. Slowly these have been opening up and like all monopoly's they simply havn't been running efficently . There are so many more costs to an airline they wages.

Fuel, planes, landing fees. Do Qantas honestly want us to believe that hiring cheaper staff will save the 200mil they claim to be losing on their international routes?
