Also would you call a company with $3.5bil cash and only making $250mil NPAT a good and sustainable result?(only using whoneedsmoney figures, haven't checked myself).
They have an aging fleet, increasing competition from budget carriers.
The Unions need to give to get. The 6% in itself is ok, but they need to improve performance via KPIs. They are not willing to do that because if they improve by 10% then they can basically lose 10% of their workforce. But their are people willing to take voluntary redundency.
QAN want to go overseas to control costs, but they will happily stay onshore if they can keep costs realistic. Either by lower salaries or higher efficiency.
Personally my payrises have always been linked to performance and it should be imo.
