I have been in unions , Read Australian Aviation ,
have been lucky enough to having used 12 OneWorld
Global Explorers usually starting and finishing
with Qantas and basically a Labor Voter.
But some of the things I have read in the Financial
Review and Australian Aviation over about 20 years
would make you wonder where the Unions are going.
They are living in Cuckoo Land , and even worse
keep back stabbing QANTAS.
If I was Allan Joyce and the Board I would only
keep the A380's and newly refitted 744's in QANTAS
International and sell all the other old heaps of
rubbish.
Keep QANTAS , JETSTAR etc and start-up the Asian
Airlines and maybe with the money from the sales
retire some debt and start another start-up in South
America fed by an 747-400 then one day A380's
Air New Zealand is setting up a Hub in New Zealand to
feed south America for the Star Alliance mainly to be
used by Asians.
At the moment you have to go from Australia
MEL - akl - LAX - ? - Santiago - Cruise - Miami - LHR/FRA
or
SYD - yvr - YTO - Santiago - Cruise - Miami - LHR/FRA
Better in Business with just 3 big sleeps in true flat sleepers.
Qantas should do the same for OneWorld as there is a
gap to get Asians to South America. Maybe though
Cairns .Feed them into Cairns then a non stop 744
or A380 to Santiago then onto the new Startup. Maybe
the Big Birds could go onto LAX then back to MEL/SYD
