I dont think people begrudge what the qantas staff earn, but its a vicious cycle. If qantas wages go up, other sectors come under increasing pressure.
Margins need to remail so goods and services rise( eg airafares). More income pushes houses up and rents follow. Then we are back where we started.
In the mean time you run the risk of losing your job over a few dollars.
I think we need the right to strike and get the best deal possible, but you need to choose your battles. And you need to be accountable for career decisions.
