Genuinely, thank you for your reply. What I was trying to establish, is if the Asian Engineers are so poorly paid and carry out such low standard of maintenance, why would you still be there? You are right though, it certainly is none of mine or anyone elses business and sorry that I asked you that.
On thinking more about what I was trying to say, I think that if the Aussie Engineers consider their work to be so good, why can't they sell it to foreign Airlines and bring work in for Australia? The world is not such a big place anymore? Just like our sportsmen and Women, our businesses and their employees must compete on the world stage. I would bet that if our engineers were as good as they think they are, if they could work more smarter or efficiently than the rest of the mob, then their jobs would be relatively safe for life. In business, just as in life and in sports, you find your edge and you climb to the top.
I strongly believe that if these guys do the good old Aussie thing of rolling up their sleeves and doing a fair, honest days work, they can take on the rest of the world and have other airlines coming in to have their aircraft serviced by their technical expertise. Let them compete on the world stage if they are so good. One of the first steps is that they must prove they are worthy. Mop.
