Dont you think South African mines minister Susan Shabangu addressing a forum in Perth last week and the comments she made also may have contributed to the share price spike?

If I was a director with a legal background who's major project is in South Africa and any legal resolutions involve the DMR I would personal move heaven and earth to hold a meeting to discuss the matter if she was in town.
