re: pbi realists vendor, you're trying to make your point by taking the worst possible scenario for someone investing in PBI

lets imagine for a second that in 20 years (yes, 20 years!!) PBI is at $15, or even $10, or even $7!

the people who bought at 40 cents, aren't going to be kicking themselves for not having waited (which was at the time impossible to predict) and got them at 20 cents.

and making the point that it's possible to get some wrong is a rather silly point to make, as i can guarantee you it applies 10 fold to short term investors.

so i don't even know what point you're trying to make here.

if it's that people who bought at 40 cents would have rather bought at 20 cents, then DUH. but same goes for short term investors, just on a shorter time scale, only difference being that for long term investors those differences are small in comparison, whereas for short term investors, due to tax etc, it makes a HUGE difference, so in that respect I can see where you're coming from, it's just that long term have a completely different and oppostie view on this same scenario..
so again.. an irrelevant point unless ur a short term investor

if you're trying to argue that short term investors are better off in the long run than short term investors, then please justify that statement to me, not with personal experience, but with facts, statistics, evidence and logic.

if you're trying to argue that PBI is going nowhere in the future, then again, give me reasons as to why.

if you're trying to argue that YOU personally have become impatient, and think you will make more money trying to pick and time the rise and fall of stocks.. then good luck.

to put my thoughts on short term vs long term bluntly..
short term investors are generally happy making $200 a day. and become impatient with a stock if it doesn't deliver that money they want in their time frame.

long term investors are happy with $0 from their investments, and $200,000 in 10 years time.

please don't argue valid short term investor points.. such as your 40 cents vs 20 cents, as they don't concern long term investors

and please don't argue short term investor views, such as no return in 8 weeks = get the hell

but please, please argue points as to why pbi will not do well in years to come.. such as if you think biotechs will never be profitable, or pbi has bad management, or pbi has a bad product.. or no one will be interested in what pbi has to offer.. and REASONS to accompany those points.

you have done the right thing, with regard to your strategy and way of thinking.
just don't confuse that with it being what people with different strategies and ways of thinking should also do

if you want to argue the strategies and ways of thinking themselves.. then put it in general, and i'll be more than happy to debate them with you
