News is and always has been about herd management.
The reality is, if you are whale on the market, you need downward selling pressure to buy into without marking up price against your own buying ie you need bad news to go long.
And you need upward/buying pressure to sell into without marking price down against your own selling ie need to sell when news is fantastic.
And if you are one of the whales you probably eventually become a good "source" for news outlets.
