How can you possibly suggest we pull our billion dollar aid simply because WE think their justice system is a crock?

We are trying to make a solid alliance with a nation close to our borders yet the general public has the opinion that they have an archiac, barbaric justice system that does not give fair trials. When comparing their system to ours, this may be the case. However we have absolutely no right to tell them what to do. That is called cultural imperialism. She was charged with a crime in that country, Indonesia have the right to try her there and that is that.

On the subject of these judges. I have been watching the news reports on this issue and on every video clip they have pictures of the judges laughing, making funny faces or sleeping while Corby is always crying. The media is making the judges out to be dumb and Corby out to be an innocent victim. We don't know for sure whether she is innocent, however it is highly unlikely that she committed what she was accused of doing due to the nature of the whole thing ie. her bag wasn't weighed and generally drugs are taken FROM Indonesia, not TO. Irrespective of this, the media need to give us an unbiased, informed opinion on the issue, not their own cultural and moral slant on the thing.
