Re your post which included; "... I suggest your fears of safety issues are baseless ..."
On many recent occasions world best pilots is all that has stood between tragic disaster & journeys that ended safely. At the risk of boring posters I could list other personal & family Qantas experiences but it seems I don't really need to.
IMO the writing on Qantas' wall says world best safety / maintenance / service reputation no longer applies & we may shut down services at a moments notice - even if you are an unaccompanied child or affected by a medical disability that will place you at risk.
For the record I did watch the Senate hearing until Ch24 discontinued it. Of all Joyce's answers I was least impressed by what I thought were evasive, thin & throw away responses to questions about its timing & assessment of its impact on people & other businesses.
