IMO the problem is the loose register that we have due to a large amount of issued shares. Posters have mentioned we have alot of major holders, but the top 20 holders still have only approx 75% of the company the other 25% is not tightly held. Leaves a large amount of shares that can be traded on a daily basis and lets face it investors are fickle, we are loyal until our pockets start to hurt too much. This doesn't include the newly issued stock which you would assume is causing further problems.

The share needs a big event or constant positive news flow to brake this trend back to the upside. Until this happens we are at the mercy of the general market and its sentiment as AKM is linked to the general market direction.

Takeover talk is very premature imo no one will touch this until the resource is sured up and some of the unknown factors are aired. Which will likely come from pre-feasibilty and BFS studies. Majority of the action in the coal market at the moment is for near term prodcuers e.g. HUN. But if AKM continues to find more coal with similar values to the DSO area we may possibly see a play made for AKM in order to get the assets cheaper. There is no doubt that AKM is undervalued compared to its peers but the time will come when this will not be the case and we will get an appropriate rerating for the assets this company has.
