    arrh, what an interesting thread.

so where would everyone else rather be?

USA, Britain, Italy, Greece (no sorry, not Greece), Spain or Portugal? How about a little RSA or maybe in the middle east somewhere??

Of course it's expensive here. Why - because everywhere else is cactus.

Our dollar isn't expensive - it's because everywhere else is cheap.

Wait and see what happens when China has to let the reins off their currency. And do you really think that all those upwardly moving chinese are going to be happy with their current take home pay forever?

You can create labour, but try creating resources. After you have done that - have a quick bash at creating some clean soil and water - you should have it sussed in a week or so.

For heavens sake people - seen many riots here lately? Noticed anyone starving in the streets?

If you want to see what it is like everywhere else - take a trip.

The list of buggered places is long and the list for the ok is short - thank god we are on the short list.

Govt's are dumb, no argument there - all persuasions, and they will continue to make dumb decisions - but the reality is that life is continually improving here - it has been doing so for many many years. If we have to backflip on the odd decision - we are more than capable. If we really get stuck, we can ask NZ what to do. :)

    have a good arvo

    Pinto
