I guess the European common mkt model has the flexibility to have non-Euro members such as the UK, and they would just end up with more of those, in the long term. I am betting the UK right now is v happy with their decision to stay out of the Euro (though to tell you the truth, I don't know if they are still obligated to contribute to bailouts?)
