Hard to feel anything for the Japanese. The sheer bloody murder of POW's was astounding. My husband's granfather was part of the Sandakan horror.Survived years of torture where over 2,000 POW's were reduced to just 15 who were executed on the 27th August,1945. (several weeks after the war ended).
Everyone in Australia owes a great deal to those brave men who fought in New Guinea.Hate to think what would have happened if the Japanese had been successful there.
Lest we forget.
