Didn't Melb have the games in 06, and from memory that was when you couldn't get a car park at an auction too wasn't it, they were going nutso, there were other factors too but games sure didn't hurt.
GC properties are way under what you can build for in many parts, any further drop in GC would surely be tempting and very low risk entry I would think.
