Polski,
Vero is hardly a mnm ramper my friend,
you seem concerned with the direction of the company but you yourself claim you once held stock in this company,
The reason why MNM was so successful in Mt Mulligan was because the way it treated the natvies and again this was expressed in deans marsh recently, further with the latested BM where all landowners were compensated bar 1 owner without forcing their hand, i spoke to Ian Kraemer for 25 minutes yesterday and if you have a concern or disagreement i suggest you do the same, i was absolutely taken back by his commitment to both shareholders and what he called triple bottom line where 3 major items needed to be assesed before deciding on a project
1) economical impact
2) Environmental impact
3) Social impact
it was obvious that deans marsh (for example) had a serious social impact form day 1 and thus the company walked away as it was not in the interest of all.
where on earth do you find a company taking all these things into consideration beofre forcing their hand on to a project,
In relation to your concern re BM, again we go back to the links inserted by Kranky a while ago where THE AREA HAS BEEN PRESERVED FOR FUTURE MINING FROM 1972. so i do not see the major problem, home owners are more than willing, the work that will be generated for the area is mind boggling,
Yes i would not want a mine opened up next door to my house, at the same time though i would not buy in a area resereved for future mining.
Mantle mining will be the largest Brown Coal miner in VIC in a very short time, and there is not a company on the ASX that has the professionalism and dignity that mnm has.
