Points taken.
I guess that I am of the general view that different products suit different people/situations.
The CMC type model seems nice and clean at least. It is quite easy to understand. The danger is that they start screwing the punter through the spread - it's about the only discretionary control that they have.
I am hopefull that if there are multiple players in that same type of market then they will be forced to compete on spread and therefore keep it reasonable. They seem happy at the moment to pick up their hedging profit.
