The definition of "commercial" is important here. As I understand it, the UCG process is pretty much modular, the unit being the panel.

I guess that the addition of further panels to a development may have implications for groundwater management and potentially subsidence but provided these can be managed, the process is arguably commercial once it has been demonstrated that a single panel can be operated in a way that provides a steady stream of gas with the appropriate specifications for whatever the end use of the gas might be. I don't know the production capacity of an individual panel but I would have thought that the reliable supply of gas to the 5MW generation plant would confirm that the technology is commercial.
