Folks, don't forget that there is a positive side to bot and algorithmic trading use (and there is a positive side): this type of trading stabilises SPs to a degree while accumulation or distribution of large positions is taking place. I'm sure nobody would complain if bots werent used to depress prices when positions are being accumulated, but nobody would be happy if they werent used and large positions were instead dumped on the market. Swings and roundabouts...

Example 1: Think about instos who buy into cap raises for small cap stocks - a much needed source of capital injection for many small companies. They buy large positions and need to be able to sell those shares according to their profitability criteria. Small shareholders are very appreciative when the instos buy in, but complain prices are being capped when instos want to sell out. We all have a right to sell out when we want.

Example 2: Small shareholder who might have 1-2M SSNOs - anyone in that position would have to manage the way they exit that position given the liquidity of the oppies - you dont have to be an evil insto to be in this position. Some may have access to bots, but those who don't would have to use other techniques that would have a similar impact on the SP while they exit their position.

Just dont forget there is always more than one side to the story. Bots and "market manipulators" are easy to bash, but anyone in a large enough position of an illiquid asset will experience this kind of challenge in their trrading career.
