Do you expect Abbott to pay his own way around the world, (even though he is Opposition Leader - and perhaps next Prime Minister) whilst Rudd and Gillard whizz off every five minutes taxpayer funded, very unecessarily sadly, no questions asked, in the instance of Rudd. Who seems to do what he likes - go where he likes, way over and above the requirements of his portfolio of Foreign Minister. Way over the top multi-frequent flights which Gillard dare not try to curb! (Or he'll squeal and bring her down!)
Is Abbott to hide in a cupboard - and rely on second hand opinion from diplomats and Labor Ministers and their "updates" to form HIS conclusions and updates on international affairs??
You may hate and loathe Abbott - but we still live in a democracy, and Abbott is as entitled as Gillard is to travel the world in pursuit of investigating current world trends. He is also just as entitled to visit our troops in Afghanistan on the way home.
