    there was an article yesterday in the AFR about gold and the euro crises.
    basically as a central bank the ECB has an unlimited balance sheet, so if they decide to copy the americans and start printing euros you can expect the gold price to rise. the author says he 'reckons' it could go through $2000/oz in that situation.
