renewable, clean, green or carbon reduction

I think you are onto something with the "carbon busting or cracking" labels. Do we need a rethink on labelling for energy technologies that produce significant emissions reduction and other benefits? I work in the health industry. where "Alternative" simply refers to therapies that have not been found to produce significant health benefits during rigorous scientific trials. Once a therapy has been found to work they are no longer "alternative". So "Alternative Energy" has this marginal "It'll never really get up" sort of connotation. Renewable just includes solar, wind, and hydro - all of which would not produce the emission reduction of fuel cells and have problems - lack of continuity of supply, damming wild rivers, looking terrible etc. Then there is nuclear - historically nuclear power has a few "emissions" problems. Any ideas?
