Aces I want to qualify my comment. Diabetic Retinopathy treatment would definitely need a clinical trial as , the use of a drug that lowers IGF has never been proven to retard the progress of this debilitating process. But if it does!!! BOOOM!! not only for money for the company but a MAJOR medical advance!!

...however this trial would surely take a significant time to recruit patients and gain ethics approval etc..

I can't see them handing over ALT1103 for the treatment of acromegaly only. The analogy would be to hand over aspirin (when first discovered) for use in pain relief only rather than its now widely used anti platelet effect.

The potential is enormous.. as for their other drugs. My only thought still remains at what point do the pharmaceuticals jump into the drug.. and I suppose thats what all the speculation and up and down ramping is about.

If a pharmaceutical does not buy in yet, I think the rerate will more reflect " we are on the right path" rather than a major discovery as all the phase 1 trial is saying ( at best) is that the drug is safe and secondarily ( by the companies own admission) that it lowers IGF. And as exciting as that is.. I would think Phase 2 trials are still required before it can be used in acromegalics and even more excitingly..diabetics..

From a medical point of view, its enormously exciting whenever a new generation of drugs is released and I want to be on the wave. But I am in for the long haul...and regardless of capital raises and cycling variants, I am happy to invest because the story is great. I feel a bit Warren Buffetish for the first time..

Now to just beware of the macroeconomics of our imploding world...
