trading halt thoughts, page-19

Might be a bit more "out there" then some of the other thoughts re; the Trading Halt (ie Russian buy out, Idian buy out etc..) but I think this will be the mine-gate sales deal and use of infrastructure. Happy to be proven wrong, and most likely will be but I'll expand on my thoughts .... this is a forum isn't it?

Couple of months ago there was an article done with Nev Power and he spoke about Fortescue looking at alternative revenue sources given iron price would eventually need to fall as they do in all booms. The biggest plus for FMG is it's infrastructure and lets face it $8 billion in new plans means they are serious in this area.

Last night the MRRT gets through and will soon become legislation and effective. The big Iron ore miners are going to want to look at other revenue streams to supliment their iron ore tax.

Now it might be very convenient that FMS had the AGM yesterday and now we have a Trading Halt and talk of strategic partners but it really doesn't wash with me because normally the trading halt will mention something about a clarifying statement. None to be found in this announcement.

I'm more convinced that FMG or even RIO has taken the initiative to get the agreement for FMS mine-gate sales and use of infrastructure. It's a massive win for FMG or RIO to collect revenue on such access with no MRRT. I'm leaning more towards FMG because they have the balls to take the initivate and it will be a very political statement to the govt. of .... "we will find other ways to survive".
