i would recommend in a discussion to choose one's words in a factual manner otherwise one's words will be repudiated

for example, the following statement is obviously false:

"if every country adopted protectionist policies world trade would come to a standstill"

there was a time protectionism was paramount and world trade did not come to a standstill

trade occured in relation to excesses & deficiencies

protectionism protected domestic employment and made nations self-sufficient

imagine if there was a war and we could no longer import from China. what would we do?

allow me to ask you a question

Australia has many service industries, such as banks, insurance companies, etc

do you believe it is in the best interests of Australia for service companies such as Telstra, WBC, CBA, NAB, Suncorp, IAG, etc, to move their call centres & whatever other labour they can to India & the Phillipines?

    thanks
