It is a shame that it is north of border. I assume if it was same country BHP would take a look at STB. Given strained relationsips between Ethiopia and Eritrea I assume BHP can only go with one, particularly given they are still conducting early stage exploration.
Now for my question. Is the fact that this deposit is so shallow and will be the first open cut potash mine potentially holding back potential buyers? If a bid is forthcoming now is the time. BHP cant do it because of politics. What stops others? I think there is some risk with open cut mine.
