Have already opened a comsec account already to transfer all my equity holdings. I also plan on closing two savings accounts and a credit card with ANZ. There has been no communication from Etrade in weeks. I honestly think they are going to wipe their hands of it. They have certainly given no indication otherwise. Their care factor seems to be about zero. I had planned to do this after the Opes debacle even though i was not affected.
There is only one language they understand. I'm taking my business elsewhere and encouraging others to do the same. No more commission from me ANZ. As another poster remarked this seems very shortsighted on ANZs behalf.
I guess having dealt with Opes they have some idea of the resultant impact on their business. However the number of Etrade clients is surely much larger this time.
I'm sure we have all learnt much recently as regards segregated accounts , counterparty risk etc. If we get back 80% + in the next couple of months then I think that is a reasonable outcome.
