Most fiscal global airlines are Asian based and take advantage of competitive, flexible labour.
Imo it is silly to think Qantas can compete with "forced" or (perhaps more kindly) "legacy" use of expensive labor and restricitve labour practices.
I hear and see much market support for Aussie manufacturers facing up to the ravages of globalisation and/or Aussie duopolist retailers like Woolllies and Coles.
I for one wont be harsh about Qantas and have voted for them with my wallet by having bought return Qantas flights to Brisbane next week for a conference.
