In the US the anti fracking movement is quite noisy from what I can see and has flooded Youtube with all sorts of messages, so much hyperbole it is difficult to sort truth from bs.

I think to make matters worse in the US/Canada they were doing fracking near towns. If there was gas in shoal it would have been already finding its way into the water table in small quantities I gather. The advent of nearby fracking simply provides a reason for it, even though it had been around before. And of course bad frackers or accidents through water tables wouldn't help.

In any case it all helps to give hydraulic fracking a pretty emotive and bad public name where reality is pushed out the door. No matter what your logical argument there will always be groups ready to protest or gain from opposing it, some political groups needing a cause to make themselves relevant.

So there is a bit of political risk into the future and is why I think they should be considering lpg fracking as a possible non water more clean alternative and have it costed and the logistics worked out, in case it becomes neccessary.
