There seems to be a lack of understanding of the stance for off shore processing of the various political parties and how our political system works.
Labor / Liberal support off shore processing.
Greens do not support off shore processing.
This means the only way off shore processing can get through the senate, is if the Liberals support the legislation.
Which the Liberals have clearly stated that they will not.
As has happened with previous governments, support from other parties is sometimes required to get legislation thought the senate, (the same as was required with the GST).
So why all the false claims that Labor should be able to do it without assistance from other parties?
If some people really believe that Labor should be able to do it without the assistance of the Liberals, then they may need to go back to school and study our political history to find out why their comments highlight their lack of understanding about our current political situation.
