House prices fall
Posted November 28, 2011 16:14:48
Residential house prices have fallen across Tasmania.
Real Estate Institute of Tasmania figures show during the September quarter, there was more than a three per cent reduction in sales on the previous quarter.
Two-thirds of all sales were in the $250,000 to $450,000 price range.
But the Institute's president, Adrian Kelly, says things are picking up.
"Most of the agents that I've spoken to particularly over the last six to eight weeks have been telling me that October was their best month for the year," he said.
"So with things like interest rates now starting to settle, there's certainly some more confidence back in the marketplace."
