IMO they already might be looking at producable gas. At least that's what they are hinting at here.
Also, is it normal for company's who are still drilling to not specify what type of "shows" they've come accross? In any case, at this early stage, I would think that any "shows" at all is an encouraging sign since they are only part way through their primary targets and this is only the first well of 3.
From the AKK announcment:
"It is most encouraging that hydrocarbon shows have been identified in drilling through the first two of our formations of interest"
AND
"Encouraging gas shows were identified in mud-logs from drilling of the Talyor Sands between 6594 feet and 6615 feet and were consistent with productive Taylor gas sand wells in the vicinity of the Krueger #1 well."
