Is anybody interested in a trading strategy question. I had this talk briefly on PRR today. I've been questioning myself as to why I'm keeping what they call in the business....a core holding.
So here's how it goes. you like a stock, you have a bunch of shares. You get a nice bounce and you sell what you call a trading parcel for a nice profit. Why did you sell it, because a sharp bounce is almost always followed by a retrace. Great, but you held a core holding which is bigger than your trading parcel.....Why? Because you want to have a stake if it goes nuts. How often does it go nuts? Once every year or so maybe. So why do you not sell all of your holdings when it's topping? Buggered if I know frankly.
If that is compus mentis, what do you think?
