Could the drop last night in the value of the $US be the beginning of an attempt to devalue the $US in a controlled way? Lately we have seen increasing discussion of competitive devaluations especially between the US and Japan. Stephen Roach thinks this would be disastrous but the US fed has never impressed with its sagacity...It has set me thinking...
