I understand your thinking.

Many people have no appetite for risk and just want everyone else to take the risk so that if the company succeeds then they can jump back in and reap the rewards.

Me, I like to look at a company and make a decision and then stand by that decision and the company if it needs to raise cash.

"thought that they were adding value when all they were doing was burning through shareholders cash".

That statement says to me again that you like to have lots of cash on hand to minimise risk, however, cash does not make you money but investing in good gold bearing ground and equipment does. Money in the bank earning 6% max when REAL inflation is 8-10% is not safety.

Macros, if you do not like risk then I respectfully suggest that the penny dreadful section of the gold mining share register is not for you but do not ever expect to be truly wealthy.
