99.999% li carbonate from brine

Industrial Minerals (www.indmin.com) reports on the 26th Sept 2011 that:-

"Simbol Materials has started production at its high-purity
lithium carbonate plant in California, extracting the battery material from geothermal brines.

The 500tpa plant,near the Salton Sea in Imperial Valley, can produce lithium carbonate at a grade of 99.999% which
it claims is the highest purity in the world."

This refutes some of the assertions made earlier that hard rock li is better than that derived from brines because of purity.

This 99.999% pure li from brines will be hard to top.
