ok ....it's now time for a cool head.

Good call to those who are holding stocks ,enjoy the fruits of your nerves of steel .

To those who didn't or are short ,dust yourself off and work out what to do now .

Firstly it seems fairly clear that they can now take the market wherever they like with an apparent blank cheque from the world's banks .There are going to be some strong gains ,you'd have to be betting that they're not going to give it up from here so if I was holding I certainly wouldn't be selling at this point .

If I was totally out of stocks would I buy today ?....well that depends on your personal situation .The market is more likely than not to move up from here but I believe it would be wise to let the dust settle and give it a little time for the world to digest what this news really means and what it means for stocks in the medium term. How much real substance is there in in these measures ?

Personally I don't see how it changes anything longer term and there's a lot of euphoria around today ,always a dangerous time to invest.

The key is that the world's leaders have shown that they're not going to let the markets fall over and have their voters suffer pain without at least the strong appearance of doing something decisive ...will it work and how much firepower are they actually prepared to unleash ...we don't know at this point.

The one thing I want to be in is gold .If the paper currencies keep getting trashed and this is a serious arsenal being unleashed gold has to go up ,maybe significantly . If it doesn't work and falls over there's still a good chance that gold will retain it's store of value. Gold has always been a bit of a no brainer in this environment but you need to watch your investments there fairly closely .There are risks for gold as well.

So yeah ,don't get suckered in to any hype. There was always a strong chance of this happenning and today is the payoff ,or maybe the start of the payoff for those that had the cohunas to hold tight and buy during the gloom .I don't however see it as a day to load up
