Another trigger would be one or some of the existing major shareholders signalling that they want to get out, as this would engage existing and new market entrants in an evaluation of whether this is/was the time to make a move on the asset.
And yet another trigger would be some form of serious disagreement between the owner operators (Extract) and their major shareholder/s - a disagreement over the way the company was being run, the project being put at risk etc.
I dont think the last problem exists, but it is possible that some major shareholders would like to lock in gains now, rather than wait - and invest further - to bring the company to production.
