All trustees must be members and all members trustees. That is why you are both. (Unless setting up corporate trustee)
Make sure you and your Mum know all the risks and obligations of being a trustee, e.g. if you are putting the SMSF member balance into Pension phase do you know the 3 forms you must complete before the ATO recognises a pension?
