PB I did note your Japan comment but because no one's really given a hoot about what happens to the Japan indices in particular for over 20 years sort of pushed it to the back of my brain ,being more focused on China at the moment.

However it is the sort of left field idea that I very much think is worth investigating and well thought out . The world basically waltzed through the tsunami crisis after an initial scare ,maybe the focus on that covered up the cracks that have been simmering underneath for a long time .The highly unusual situation where there has been no real recovery in stocks for so long and the fact that real estate prices are still well below prices commanded in the '80s is worth noting don't you think ? If they couldn't recover through the intervening years what hope now ?

Re sentiment on these threads it's just that most of the bears have gone missing and a few heroes have jumped out of the woodwork ,not a good sign but not necessarily definitive. The bears'll be back on a 200 pt Dow fall. If you've been long now is the time to be cautious .I'm not taking any new positions from here
