Not for me. I often see the news show up in the chart beforehand. For me this is a time to place EXTRA emphisis on the charts. For example, a month and a half ago, over the weekend, I noticed DX (USD index) showed a very bullish pattern. You can do a seach as I posted the chart and even put a image of a bull on it, which I never do. Sure enough on Monday (or perhaps Tuesday I can't recall now) BOJ came out with one of their interventions and the USD went for a HUGE run.
No my friend, for me, the charts are more important at a time like this. Combing through them, something may jump out at me that seals the deal in my mind.
