WE have all heard the stories of people having had stock only to sell it and see it go up substantialy. I could write a book on my own personal experiences. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is HOLD. WE see a nice profit and get tempted to sell and often we do sell. It is easy to buy but it much harder to sell. Greed and fear play a major role in deciding what to do. That is why you MUST do a little research and look at the potential of the stock you have invested in. Is it a growth industry. Do they have the right technology. Are there good oportunities to form partnerships with other companies. There are just questions one can ask themselves. It might help in deciding if you wish to stick around long term or short term.
