Baggage handler arrested on cocaine charges

The New South Wales Drug Squad has arrested a Sydney Airport baggage handler over a cocaine supply investigation.

The 40-year-old baggage handler was arrested this morning.

Detectives are questioning the man, who they allege had tried to locate a bag containing $60,000 worth of cocaine that followed a flight between Sydney and Melbourne in mid-February.

Police allege the baggage handler was trying to find the bag for an associate and when he found out the police had it, he called the associate and tipped him off.

Yesterday police from strike force Elocution arrested the man they allege to be the associate in inner Sydney.

He faces charges over attempting to move the cocaine between Sydney and Melbourne.
