Thought HC would be full of speculation this weekend re. EXR after their surprise announcement on Friday that the Marquis well was being brought forward, not delayed, as many had tipped. But not a sausage; not one post since acturtle and others reported the news.
With just 53million shares -and many of these are held by investment companies optimistic about North Sea drilling possibilities- this company has a market cap. of $35 million.
What will happen if it gets a sniff of hydrocarbons in this first well?
Of course,if it's a bummer, the downside is considerable but then the big Jaguar prospect should be drilled in 2006 and any downside would then be forgotten.
As a shareholder,I'm going to accept the invitation to the roadshow this week and will be interested to see how many turn up to hear the company's story. The roadshows - taking place in Sydney on Tuesday,Melbourne on Thursday and Perth on Monday June 20 -should help to get a bit of additional buyer interest.
An HC poster earlier tipped a shareprice of $3 if the Marquis well came up trumps. That's a market cap. of about $160 million. Sound reasonable?
