Corporatism. A new corporate elite with greater power than nation states. This power is used to socially engineer our populace to cement their power. Through subtle and not-so subtle power relationships, political leaders are encouraged or cut-down according to their willingness to be complicit supporters of corporate goals as opposed to the needs of the democracy. Hence, both major parties become virtually indistinguishable and the electorate becomes increasingly disenfranchised. All the while the corporates act with relative freedom and become revered by society.
Notice how corporate language is used in everyday speech. Government is run according to corporate principles and neoliberal (read corporate ideology) is applied to society. We are all merely economic inputs to production.
Just my 2 cents worth. Nice to see you raise it Redmoki.
