The bible says it is alright to kill....an eye for an eye, remember. That is akin to saying because someone else kills it is okay for you to do it. It is also practised with the multiplier effect in Israel today.
But back to the original issue, what you are missing is that by preaching lies religions are also saying it is okay to lie. This lying is conducted by all religious institutions and not just by members of the flock who are not necessarily devout followers. You yourself have quited the 'story' of Adam and Eve as if it is true and drawn an inference from it - an example of perpetuating a lie created by someone and institionalised within the Jewish and Christian religions.
Lying and deceit is instutionalised from religions to governments to trade and commerce to.......... Just think of the lies told in advertisements, not just for products but by religious bodies in order to promote themselves. Think snooks think.
